How to Sharpen Kitchen Knife at Home with Tips

Use a Coffee Mug – Knife Sharpening Kitchen Hack!! Sharpen kitchen knives—it’s one of the easiest ways to instantly improve your cooking.
Dull knives are dangerous because a dull blade requires more force to do the job and so has a higher chance of slipping and missing the mark. Plus, poorly cut food will not cook properly. A sharp knife will produce food that is evenly cut and therefore will cook at an even rate.
You can use old coffee mug, not your favorite mug or cracked mug to sharpen knife. I have used yellow coffee mug to make my knives sharp. it just takes 2 mins to sharpen knife, you can sharpen small or big knives but definitely not butter knife!! This way of sharpening knife not only saves money but also saves lot of time, as u dnt need to carry knife all the way to market!

EASIEST WAY TO SHARPEN KNIFE ON COFFEE MUG:

HOW TO DO IT:

Need to sharpen a small/big knife, but don’t own a knife sharpener? If you find yourself with a dull knife but without a knife sharpener, you can use the unglazed bottom of a ceramic mug to sharpen small knives. Applying moderate pressure, hold the knife at a 20 – degree angle and carefully draw the entire length of the blade across the rough surface.
How to sharpen a knife/ knives using coffee mug: cutting a tomato can really become difficult it if knife is not sharp you can easily sharpen this in less than 2 mins with help of these coffee mugs how? lets watch it! so its very important to select right kind of coffee mug here i have a tea cup (small) another tea cup (medium) and big coffee mug now i will tell u which one you should select at home firstly you should select mug which is old not your favorite or its broken because while sharpening it may happen that edge of mug might become rough
So first lets start with this kind of mug this is tea cup actually and here you can see the back of tea cup is very rounded and you u don't have a rough edge at all so these kinds of tea cups should not be used for sharpening so lets talk about second one here i have got another tea cup where the back of it little rough but we need to have a tea cup in which u can hold and grip it nicely bcoz this is the surface we are going to use it to sharpen the knife
So i dnt get a very good grip over here so i am going to use this as well this is the cup which used to be my favorite yellow mug in which i used to have coffee in the morning but unfortunately u can see its broken and m sure everybody has these kinds of mugs once upon a time u love them once its broken u cannot use them but u can definitely put it to use for sharpening the knife
If u see this particular mug there is a very large rough surface this part, the end of mug the bottom of the mug what u need to do is just grip the mug tightly away from handle of mug take your knife and run it from bottom to the top u will give couple of strokes like this make sure that angle of knife is 20 degrees or so you should only sharpen blade of knife or edge of knife once you are done just flip over the knife like this and sharpen it on other side as well now my knife is sharpened
I will check this on tomato as well now u can see it here we have got some blackening this is because of the metal and this is perfectly fine so make sure u use old mug as i said, u will not have to bother if the mug gets spoil this was the tomato we had chopped before sharpening the knife and now we will cut other half of tomato i will show with this knife that we have just sharpened now u can see i can cut it very easily just make sure u keep ur fingers away flip onto the other side
This is that simple! u just need 2 mins to make it sharp and remember sharp is safe this is how tomato gets sharp when u dnt have a sharp knife. u dnt get get sharp margins on tomato whereas when we sharpen knife we get very neat and nicely chopped tomato so guys u can sharpen all knives, short and long knives except obviously, butter knife which u should not sharpen this way for sharpening knife, this is the best method at home.
